American Chop Suey Recipe - How To Make Classic American Chop Suey

Yum



Ingredients
  • 1.5 lbs - 80/20 Ground Beef
  • 2 tsp - Garlic (minced)
  • 1 medium - Onion (chopped)
  • 1 medium - Bell Pepper (chopped)
  • 3 TBS - Butter
  • 1 tsp - Basil
  • 1 tsp - Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp - Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp - Sugar
  • Kosher Salt to taste
  • 14.5 oz can - Tomato Sauce
  • 14.5 oz can - Diced Tomatoes
  • 6 oz - Tomato Juice
  • 1/4 Cup - Tomato Paste
  • 1 lb - Elbow Macaroni (cooked but not fully tender)
Directions
  • Brown ground beef in a large skillet, drain most but not all of the fat.
  • Add butter, garlic, onions and bell pepper.  Sauté until they begin to sweat.
  • Add remaining ingredients except pasta, bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Mix in cooked elbow macaroni and continue to simmer until pasta is tender.
