Chili Recipe - Homemade Chili

Ingredients

  • 1 lb - Sirloin chunks
  • 1 lb - 80/20 Ground Beef
  • 2 TBS - Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Cup - Chopped Onion
  • 1 Cup - Chopped Bell Pepper
  • 1 - Large Chopped Jalapeno
  • 2 TBS - Minced Garlic
  • 12 oz - Beer
  • 28 oz - Can Whole Tomatoes (undrained)
  • 2 - 15 oz - Cans Kidney Beans (undrained)
  • 4 TBS - Chili Powder
  • 1 TBS - Oregano
  • 2 TBS - Granulated Garlic
  • 2 TBS - Granulated Onion
  • 1 tsp - Black Pepper
  • 1 TBS - Cumin
  • 1 tsp - Salt
Directions
  • In a large pot over med-high add vegetable oil and brown the meat for 3-4 minutes.
  • Add onions, bell pepper, jalapeno, garlic and saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, stir, cover and reduce heat to med-low.
  • Simmer for 1-1.5 hours.

  1. Looks great. Could I substitute the beer for somthing else though? I would add it in but I live in a clean and sober house and im cooking for the house. -Drew
