Chinese Chicken Wings - Chicken Wing Recipe - Chinese Food

Ingredients 
  • 3 lbs - Chicken Wings (separated)
  • 1/2 Cup - Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 Cup + 2 TBS - Brown Sugar
  • 1 TBS - Fresh Chopped Ginger
  • 1 TBS - Sambal Oelek
  • 1 TBS - Fresh Chopped Garlic
  • 2 tsp - Toasted Sesame Oil
  • 2 TBS - Oyster Sauce
  • 2 TBS - Shaoxing Chinese Cooking Wine or Sherry
  • 4 - Star Anise 
  • 1 Cup - Water
Directions
  • Combine all of the ingredients except wings and 1/4 cup brown sugar in a large bowl.
  • Add wings and marinade to a seal-able container or zip loc bag.
  • Place in the fridge to marinate for a minimum of 2 hours, 4-8 hours is better.
  • Remove wings from marinade and place on a raised rack.
  • Bake at 400ยบ for 40 minutes.
  • Add leftover marinade to a small sauce pan and bring to a boil over medium high heat.
  • Add 1/4 cup brown sugar and continue to boil 3-5 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
  • Baste wings with glaze and place under the broiler for 2-3 minutes or until carmelized.
  • Top with toasted sesame seeds and green onions.
