Grilled Meatball Subs on a Stick

Yum
Ingredients

  • 1 lb - Ground Round
  • 1 lb - Sweet Italian Sausage
  • 1 lb - Pizza Dough
  • 1/2 Cup - Milk
  • 1/2 Cup - Bread Crumbs
  • 1/2 Cup - Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 Cup - Marinara Sauce
  • 1 - Egg
  • 1 TBS - Basil
  • 1 TBS - Oregano
  • 1 TBS - Parsley
  • 1 TBS - Dried Minced Onion
  • 2 tsp - Granulated Garlic
  • 2 tsp - Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp - Salt
  • 7 - Bamboo Skewers

Directions
  • Combine milk, egg, basil, oregano, parsley, onion, garlic, pepper, salt and bread crumbs.
  • Add ground round and sausage to the filling mixture and mix well, but do not overwork the meat or it will become tough once cooked.
  • Roll meat into 2oz balls, a little smaller than a golf ball.
  • Grill or bake meatballs for 20-25 @ 350º until golden brown and the internal temperature has reached 155º
  • Remove meatballs and let cool, then refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Roll out pizza dough to about 1/4" thickness and with a pizza cutter cut 7 - 1" strips.
  • Push 1 skewer through the end of the dough, add a meatball and repeat until you have 3 meatballs on the skewer.  At the end wrap the dough around the skewer and then come back down the opposite side of the meatball wrapping between each meatball.
  • Grill or bake at 400º for 10 minutes or until the dough is golden brown.
  • Add cheese to each skewer and continue to cook until the cheese is melted.
  • Serve with marina sauce.
Enjoy!
