Pork Burgers with Sauerkraut and Granny Smith Apples

Pork Burger Recipe

  • 1lb - Ground Pork
  • 2 Granny Smith Apples (sliced)
  • 1 cup - Sauerkraut
  • 2 - Yellow Onions (medium diced)
  • 1 cup - Swiss Cheese (shredded)
  • 1 tsp - Cinnamon
  • Hamburger Buns
  • Whole Grain Mustard
  • Salt and Pepper
Directions
  • Form 4 equal patties, season with salt and pepper
  • Pan fry 4-5 minutes per side over medium heat
  • In a separate saute' pan, heat 1 TBS Olive Oil and slowly caramelize the onions 7-8 minutes
  • Remove onions, add 1 TBS. oil, season apples with cinnamon and saute' 4-5 minutes (do not overcook)
  • Break down onions, apples and sauerkraut into 4 equal parts, top onions and kraut with Swiss cheese, heat until cheese has melted
  • Build burger, add mustard and enjoy
