Steak Diane

Yum
This is a very elegant but extremely simple dish to make.  Give it a try!


Steak Diane Recipe
  • 1-2 lbs Sirloin Steak
  • 1 small - Yellow Onion (sliced)
  • 1/2 Cup - Fresh or Canned Mushrooms (drained)
  • 1 TBS - Dijon Mustard
  • 1 TBS - Garlic
  • 1 TBS - Butter
  • 1 TBS - Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup - Brandy
  •  1 Cup - Heavy Cream
  • 2 TBS - Parsley

Directions
  • Let the steaks sit out at room temperature for a minimum of one hour
  • Over med high heat add 2-3 TBS oil in a heavy skillet
  • Liberally salt and pepper both sides of the sirloin and sear for 2-3 minutes per side and remove from pan
  • Reduce heat to medium and saute' onions, garlic and mushrooms in the pan juices for 3-4 minutes until the onions begin to caramelize
  • Add in butter,mustard, Worcestershire and brandy, let simmer for 2-3 minutes
  • Add heavy cream, parsley, stir until combined.
  • Put the steaks into the sauce and simmer 2-3 minutes until desired rareness is reached.  I recommend med-rare
