This is a very elegant but extremely simple dish to make. Give it a try!
Steak Diane Recipe
- 1-2 lbs Sirloin Steak
- 1 small - Yellow Onion (sliced)
- 1/2 Cup - Fresh or Canned Mushrooms (drained)
- 1 TBS - Dijon Mustard
- 1 TBS - Garlic
- 1 TBS - Butter
- 1 TBS - Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 Cup - Brandy
- 1 Cup - Heavy Cream
- 2 TBS - Parsley
Directions
- Let the steaks sit out at room temperature for a minimum of one hour
- Over med high heat add 2-3 TBS oil in a heavy skillet
- Liberally salt and pepper both sides of the sirloin and sear for 2-3 minutes per side and remove from pan
- Reduce heat to medium and saute' onions, garlic and mushrooms in the pan juices for 3-4 minutes until the onions begin to caramelize
- Add in butter,mustard, Worcestershire and brandy, let simmer for 2-3 minutes
- Add heavy cream, parsley, stir until combined.
- Put the steaks into the sauce and simmer 2-3 minutes until desired rareness is reached. I recommend med-rare
