Stout Gravy Beef Pot Pie

Yum
This is a super easy, but satisfying comfort dish!

Stout Gravy Beef Pot Pie
  • 1lb - Stew beef chunks
  • 1 cup - Diced Onion
  • 2 cups - Diced Potato
  • 2 cups - Frozen Vegetables (peas, corn, carrots and green beans)
  • 12oz - Guinness Stout
  • 2 TBS - All Purpose Flour
  • 1 pack - Pillsbury Pie Crust
  • 2 tsp - Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 TBS - Oil
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste
Step 1.  Heat oil over medium high heat until it begins to smoke.  Season beef with salt and pepper, then saute for 3-4 minutes just until browned.

Step 2.  Add onions, saute until tender.

Step 3.  Add flour and combine with fat from the meat and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Step 4.  Add the Stout, Worcestershire and the potatoes, reduce heat to medium low and cook for 20 minutes until the meat and potatoes are tender.

Step 5.  Remove mixture from the heat and add the frozen vegetables and combine all ingredients.

Step 6.  Line a 9" pie dish with one layer of dough, fill with mixture and add the top layer of dough.  Cut off excess dough and crimp with a fork around the edges.

Step 7.  Pierce the top of the pie 3-4 times with a knife or fork and cook according to the dough package instructions.
